It's fine.

I guess.

Just found out that Aaron and Adelyn are leaving MPYO.

It's fine, i guess.

That makes three people including Myles who aren't going to be around during the next camp.

Obviously nobody can stay forever, yeah?

It's fine, i guess.

Yeah, I should be enjoying the fact that most of us are still here.

Having said that, how long more until everybody leaves?

What become of the bonds we've formed?

Will our memories be all that we have left?

It's not fine, actually.

It sucks.

big time.

FIRST POST OF 2008 WTF

Yes, I've finally brought myself to post something here after a more than a month long hiatus!
The last month's been a fast one, with school, lessons, and practicing and lots of other shit*. So I guess I should talk about whatever I've been up to recently.

So I started in Beaconhouse Sri Inai last month and whoa! It's the complete opposite of Wesley! I think it's safe to say that anyone who hates it at Wesley would think of Baconhouse as some gift from the heavens meant to rid the world of all sadness and misery. And even though sadness and misery seem to be around the same thing, it still does a fucking good job. My one concern is that it's too relaxed. Lots of the people there are... dare I say it... less than hardworking. There's no one to copy homework off of. Though there aint much homework to begin with.

In a way it's kind of refreshing, but it's weird to be among the most hardworking people in class for once. Of course, the best part of this place, the thing that makes me heart it so much are the teachers!! They are among the best teachers you can get! Bad thing is, they teach really really slowly. Yeah. Real slow. Which is good until you realise that it took them a whole month to get through the first chapter of chemistry which is the INTRODUCTION TO CHEMISTRY! THE FUCKING INTRODUCTION! Gyargungh...

Started lessons with Steve last month too. Been practicing like semi-mad. Well of course I can't compare the time I put in with the time that's been put in by Jebat lately, but argh! He's given me so much to practice! Popper, Duport, Brahms' Sonata**, and Goltermann concerto**! ARGH! Plus yesterday I discovered a crack in my cello! Geez it's probably gonna be fine, but can't really stop from worrying. Sigh.

So right now, I have to figure out some way to make this post seem longer than it actually is. Mainly because I seem to post some of the shortest shit among all of the blogs I read. Somehow, I'm gonna have to improve on my blogging power because if I don't.... Malu only la... Ah! I know! I'll just skip two lines in between each paragraph, creating the illusion of more body! Dylan, you fucking genius.

*no such thing
**not the whole thing, but still!

The year that is 2007 (for the next six hours)

I don't know bout you guys, but i think that 2007 was one great year. It's probably been the most eventful year I've had for a long time. It's probably the first year that I've actually done stuff outside school.

You see.

I probably don't enjoy school as much as the average student. In fact, most of the crappiest days in this year would probably have the word "school" printed all over it. The past two years especially... It's been a very weird journey full of not fitting in and envying the fucking bastards who actually do.

Then again, I met some really cool people at school this year, too. I mean, KK, Ga Joon, Brian, What the hell would school have been without you guys and everyone else whom I spent time with?

It would be even shittier. That's what.

As far as academics are concerned, I don't think I've learned anything worthwhile this whole year in school... No offense to all of my good teachers*, but I can't think of one thing taught this year that actually helped or could possibly help me in the years that will come. I mean... what's the point in learning history that's been tainted with by irresponsible, greedy and selfish bastards?

And as for the PMR and the test results... All I can say is fuck them**. What really matters is how we deal with the shittiness in handling the unexpected and/or expected hits and/or misses. It's certainly more valuable than getting some cheap A for some pointless test paper. I mean, what's the use of being the top frog in the well***?

For me, personally, the learning done this year was done elsewhere.

Which brings me to my year in the MPYO. Probably the most fun I've had in ages. Unlike others, though, I haven't come out of it with an insane encyclopedic knowledge of classical music. I have however, come to appreciate the thrill of making music, and enjoying it with friends.

Friends.

Yes. Really cool people. I mean. Right now, thinking back to the first music camp, I would never have imagined how cool people could actually be, from meeting Myles and Alix on the first day while looking for food in Tronoh, to meeting the rest of the tribe over the duration of the next few camps. These sorts of friendships, I hope to keep and/or rekindle if any loss of contact or falling out has occurred.

Seriously.

For the simple reason that these people are kinda cool. Never have I felt so at home with people outside my family. Heck, sometimes I feel awkward talking to my dad. I don't know, maybe it's because I can say anything to those guys and (hopefully) get away with it. Or maybe we can just relate to each other easier, being of roughly the same age. I won't over think it though, in fear of ruining the whole thing.

I was really lucky to get Margaret as a cello teacher this year, too. She really taught me a lot. It was the first time for a very long time that I enjoyed going for a lesson. Whether it was full of those damn Popper studies or those really fun Bach movements.

The lessons left me feeling, how you say, good. Beyond cello, she became a guru of sorts, teaching me lessons of life through very long, time consuming stories about her experiences as a cellist and as an adolescent, growing up.

So.

To sum it all up.

2007 has been the shortest and the longest year of my life.

Full of
  • Really fun stuff
  • Really cool people
  • Really nice music
Basically really good things.

Also, when I think about it, I probably came out of 2007 a very different person than I was when it started.

Hopefully in a good way.

What should I eat for breakfast tomorrow? more importantly, what are YOU gonna eat for breakfast for the next few days????????

2007-12-18

This is a post.

FUUUUCK

This was the most fun mpyo thing yet.

Now it's back to normal life.

I'm not gonna do a whole write up on the tour, If you want one, go to Mister T(iki)'s* blog. He's an amazingly long winded blogger ( in a good, interesting way, that is**). This is basically my thoughts on the tour as a whole.

In a nutshell, the MPYO's first tour was. Extremely fun. I don't think many things will come close to compare with the experiences and friends I have in the orchestra. Seriously. From the hour long bus rides, to the sub-standard victuals, late night bitching to the grueling rehearsals, to the bath-less nights in the hotel. Yeap... fun...

The tour also brought me closer to some other people. I was hanging around Jebat more than usual (usually not at all so there's a big difference there). And I also discovered Adelyn wasn't an evil biatch. Haaha... I also feel a tad closer to James and have started to taking a liking to Eben. Yea... he's nice...

You know what I realise?

There are too many nice people in the MPYO... It's strangely unnatural. There may only be a couple of jackasses in the orchestra.... There may only be ONE jackass in the orchestra. The ratios are so out of proportion! In my soon to be former school, there are probably 3.5ja/m. ja being jackass m being metre. And the numbers increase as you walk closer to 3L. I wonder why***....

Jeez. So many people are leaving after the tour, or have already left, rather. Choong Yen and Beng Yew are leaving, making the Principal Clarinet and Bass positions empty. Even Nami, our lovable concert master's leaving to study law in Australia. There's no doubt that next year is gonna be a whole lot different from this year's mpyo.

I hope those sections are gonna have Battle Royale to pick the next leader. It should be fun to watch haha****...

SEGWAYYYYYY

So...
Uhhh....
The next MPYO thing is 3 months away.
It's not that far off.
I hope.

* this is a fucking lame joke
*
*damage control wtf
*** probably because the people at school are from very rich families who spoil them at every minute of the day. Whereas most of the orchestra members are probably from lower to upper middle class people who have been BROUGHT WITH SOME MANNERS AND BOUNDARIES
**** imagine Myles trying to kill Ket Wei.

2007-10-16

I just wasted my time to post something on the damn blog.

Some people may think life gets more relaxed after the exams.
Some may think it'll be a big load off their backs.
Some people think it'll give them a chance to do more productive things like bake, practice or maybe, just maybe, even take up exercise (yeah right).
Obviously, I was wrong.
Because nothing changes the fact that the average Malaysian-Chinese but doesn't speak the language teenager, like myself is unmotivated and lazy and slothlike and pretty much a damn blotch on the face of humanity.
Humanity doesn't have a very good complexion I think.
So the real problem isn't about humanity. It's the fact that I haven't ben able to bring myself to do anything. Anything productive that is. The damn exams ended more than a week ago and all I've done is bloody played bloody megaman.

.No, seriously.
Played bloody megaman and watched bloody tv. Bloody, bloody tv.
And I think that all of this mind draining pig swill has drained  my mind and turned it into pig swill.
I'm not blaming tv or megaman or  anything. It's just that they're distracting my mind.
Seriously distracting. I mean, I've been playing megaman scenarios in my head before I sleep.
For example, my mind will envision a megaman level, and I'll replay it over and over again till I formulate the best tactic to get past an obstacle without damage. And if I don't, I just keep on the simulation until I do.
And then, I fucking played digimon. Bloody, bloody digimon.
It's a nice, fun game, but when you put it in the hands of an obsessive bastard perfectionist who only wants to get the fucking best digimon, it becomes as bad as damn heroine.
I realised today that I don't really want to play playstation, I play because I can't bring myself to do anything that requires effort, But because of my damn obsessive behaviour, the playstation becomes more stressful than doing actual work.

Fact: I get more stressed over things that don't matter than over things that matter a lot.

Fact: I've bloody proofread (past tense) this post ten times already and if there are spelling
mistakes when I post it, I'm gonna delete it or make up an excuse to reassure myself it wasn't
my fault.

Who am I kidding? No one bloody reads my blog anyway.
No one even fucking knows I have a blog.
And by the way, I aint the most deep person in the world. I just rant to show off fake intelligence.
I don't know if it works though.

Damned hell.

What I need to do is stop playing playstation. yea. that's it. I can quit anytime I want.

Really.

All I need to do is find a new album that is really fucking gold and then lock myself in the room for awhile.

Thanks to Alison for correcting my sentence up there.

Maybe I should get more sleep? No.
I've had more sleep than ever these holidays.

Maybe I just haven't been talking to anyone outside of my family for the past week. Not one person. It's crazy.

I need to find something to do.

Or I should stop acting like a spoiled ass and just get up and do something.

Either's fine.

yea basically that

2007-09-25

HEYA GUYS!

Next week this time will be the exams.

BUT I'M NOT WORRIED NO NOT WORRIED AT ALL. THE STRESS BREAK DOWNS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE EXAMS.

I'm completely screwed I might add...

Yesterday at cikgu's we did a damned worksheet

I got ten wrong in the first 17 questions.

Fuck.

And just like the slime of society, I've been taking it out on other people, usually Alison.

I have been feeling crappy about this, don't worry.

So anyway...
Anyone who has been reading the papers should know about the first malaysian 'astronaut' to be sent into space!

The papers say that there are two candidates and they'll confirm who'll be the lucky new astronaut to be hurled into the dark unfriendly depths of nothingness that I like to call space in a month or two.

Real exciting stuff, no?

BUT GUESS WHAT!? AS USUAL THE MALAYSIAN GOVERNMENT HAS BEEN COMPLETELY HONEST WITH THE PEOPLE!!

Mom showed me something this morning.

It was on Aisehman

Turns out the candidate for the spacetrip has long been chosen.

But that's not the worst part.

They claim the candidates are certified astronauts.

But according to the NASwebsite he's just a "spacecraft passenger" guess what that is according to wikipedia? heh...

On skipping school on Mondays

Lucky is the guy whose parents let him skip Monday.

Got back from the camp yesterday.

For some reason, it was less happening than usual.

But it was fun

Here's an overview of pretty much everything that happened during camp:
On Monday, we all checked in to Hotel Flamingo, Ampang after mom took 2 wrong turns on the way. We ate dinner at Kenny Rogers'. The next day we ate at the food court, then
Nandos for dinner. Food court the next day again and sammiches for dinner. Ate a bento on thursday and Chilli's for dinner. Ate at the hotel the next day after a bento.saturday shared waffles for dinner. Sunday ate bento.

Swear

FUCKING PMR TRIALS ARE IN TWO WEEKS

That's all i'm gonna say about studies.

Just got back from One Utama.

We ate at Carl's Jr.

"The most expensive fast food here."
Guy in front of me.

So the fabled burgers ARE REALLY HUGE.

Connect your two index fingers and thumbs together and make a ring.

Now look at it.

That is not the size of the burger.

It is more like the size of Bigfoot's heel.

Yes, that big.

Watching Flight of the Conchords now.

Search for it on YouTube, it's really so funny it should be illegal.

explosions in the sky

So this week is school concert. Such a coincidence that my asthma has been in "full effect" recently... Heh....

So I just received an email from the MPYO yesterday.

The camp in August is in the Hotel Flamingo.

Yes, a real hotel. They've really outdone themselves this time.

Though it would've been cool to stay in Mandarin Oriental

*sniff*

I admit, when I read the email, I went into a 7 year old boy who just bought a Gameboy Color-like fit of excitement ,ie: opening the box straight away and playing Pokemon Yellow Version in the Reject Shop in Jaya Shopping Centre near Metrojaya (now known as digital mall) and forgetting to bring home the bag of clothes your parents asked you to hold on to therefore being grounded from playing Pokemon for a month....

Good times. Good times.

Hey yea! I met up with Jun Ho last week

Fcuk is he tall now...

I was really surprised he didn't come back with an Aussie accent.

He does however call football some weird Aussie word.

I think it's "soccer" (souck-ahhh).

So back to the concert.

Alison's in the Malay dance in the concert. She's partnered with Tan Jie ( Jing Tao's bro if you don't know). She's having the time of her life with the guy who happily picks his nose although he knows pretty well that the next step in the dance involves holding hands with Alison. Great man.... Great, great man

Concert is on Friday and Saturday. I'm not going.

Here's the schedule for the next MPYO camp on

2007-07-04

Read the following post in a blunt, dry, tone.

I pretty much decided that the fuckers in Rev9 are great, great men.

The story goes:

So today during lunch hour, well, more of just when lunch was a bout to end. So it was just before i was gonna line up for assembly.

I was balancing my tupperware on my head. And pretty well too.

So Kar Yau whacked it off my head and started to titter with the other Rev9s.

So i punched him. But with my weak musician arms and his fifty layers of "padding", he didn't flinch.

At least I didn't get beaten up.

So anyway. I spent the rest of the day talking about the great men in Rev9.

I FUCKING LOVE THOSE PEOPLE!!!

Footnote:

For those of you who don't know how i speak, this post has a sarcastic tone to the whole story. I actually hate the people in Rev9, their religion and all that they stand for.

This leaves on question:Why was I balancing the tupperware on my head?
